The collections
Shape Collection
This is my very first collection! After taking specialized welding training at BKMW School in Brooklyn, I fell in love with the combination of copper and silver. The models in this first collection give the impression that the silver is dipped in copper while the two metals are actually welded side by side. Thus, copper could never detach from silver unlike a plating. It is a production technique that requires a lot of attention to detail, but the results are impressive and much more durable than veneer!
Forge Collection
This collection is based on techniques learned in Spain during an internship in jewelry forging in Barcelona. This process is little used in Quebec. It consists of hammering the metal to give shape to the jewel. It is impressive to see how the use of a simple tool like a hammer can transform a sheet of metal! Little tip for the earring: pass it behind the ear to hide the end of the rod and give an even more interesting effect to this model.
Volume Collection
Minimalist, geometric and delicate! The models in this collection fit perfectly with current trends! It is often the collection that I suggest for gifts since its simplicity suits the vast majority. Even if the models in this collection are very small, there is a lot of work behind each piece. Each volume of silver and copper is sawn individually before being meticulous weld to align the two metals on all sides.
Demi Collection
A little more complex than the other collections, this one is distinguished by its play on forms. Its sections in different axes combined with mirror polish create illusion effects depending on the angle from which one looks at the jewel.
Vertical Collection
Elegance is the watchword of this collection! The fine copper line placed in the center or on the side of the jewel accentuates the elongated proportions. Both classic and contemporary, this collection is the perfect complement to the look of the little black dress!
Pli Collection
The latest collection, called PLI, was designed in the spring of 2020. It is based on the action of folding a copper surface onto a silver surface. This simple manipulation where a part is inserted in whole or in part in another allows me to explore different plays of volume and perceptions.
Dots Collection
Each piece in the Dots collection has a small shiny patch made of copper to which simple elements of wire and chain are attached.
Asy Collection
The ASY collection is the result of an exploration work on asymmetrical shapes. My conclusion ? For both symmetrical and asymmetrical shapes, the work of proportions remains the key to achieving visual balance.
Melt Collection
- The MELT collection is created from silver and copper scraps accumulated from the artist’s production over the years. The different metals are carefully weighed to ensure an even size, then melted on a block of coal forming small beads, each one unique in its texture and shape. The beads are then drilled, faceted and polished by hand before being assembled into contemporary pieces in the signature style of the jeweler.
What is your approach for your creations?
My studies in architecture certainly shaped my creative approach which is rather structured. For each collection, I put a lot of effort into the preparation of prototypes. These prototypes allow me to confirm the volumes, proportions and perspectives that I seek so that each piece of jewelry has a form of balance that ensures it is elegant while being comfortable.
What materials are used in your jewelry?
The majority of my models are made of sterling silver and copper. These are my two favorite materials that allow me to multiply the possibilities of arrangement while maintaining the simplicity of a piece of jewelry that aims to be elegant and contemporary.
What is the best way to clean my jewelry?
In the event of unwanted oxidation of copper or sterling silver, rub the jewel with a little ketchup, pass it under water and wipe it with a soft cloth!
